The field of data science really captured my attention back in
2015. At the moment I’d say I’m more of a data science generalist but am especially intrigued by probabilistic modeling and probabilistic programming languages (à la Stan, Turing, etc.). I’m a bit skeptical of the promise of deep learning but am excited to see innovations like transfer learning, deep probabilistic modeling, neural ODEs, and differentiable programming.
I’ve enjoyed programming since my undergrad intro
C++ days. Now I spend all of my time in high level languages. Professionally, I use
R because of its great package ecosystem. However, I’m a complete fanboy of the
Julia Programming Language.
When exhausted by data science and tech I enjoy playing the classical guitar. This guitar was built by Bernardo Romero in San Diego, if you’re interested check out GSI:
